Lost your job? Forced to take vax? Add your experience to this Senate inquiry

The following comes from Senator Gerard Rennick:

If you lost your job or were forced to take the Covid-19 jab, please consider making a submission about your experience to this inquiry.

On 9 February 2023, the Senate referred the Fair Work Amendment (Prohibiting COVID-19 Vaccine Discrimination) Bill 2023 to the Committee for inquiry and report by 21 June 2023.

The Bill was sponsored by Senators Canavan, Rennick and Antic.

The Senate Education and Employment Legislation Committee is calling for submissions to its inquiry into the Fair Work Amendment (Prohibiting COVID-19 Vaccine Discrimination) Bill 2023 by 24 March 2023.

The Fair Work Amendment (Prohibiting COVID-19 Vaccine Discrimination) Bill 2023 seeks to amend the Fair Work Act 2009 by adding COVID-19 vaccination status as an attribute protected from discrimination. Information about the bill is available here.

Note: The Fair Work Act only covers those who work in the private sector or the Commonwealth. State government employees come under their respective Industrial Relations Commission.

If you require special arrangements to enable you to make a submission to the inquiry, or if you have questions, or need more time to write your submission, please contact the Education and Employment committee secretariat (details on my website).
